Project Description
The Rotary Club of Kathmandu organized a Mental Health Awareness Session at Shree Panchakanya Secondary School, Budanilkantha on 29 Jan 2026, aiming to educate students about the importance of mental well-being. The session covered a range of relevant topics, including stress management, anxiety, depression, peer pressure, self-esteem, and emotional regulation. Students were also introduced to concepts such as mindfulness, healthy coping strategies, and the importance of seeking help when needed. Interactive discussions and activities encouraged students to share their thoughts and experiences, helping to create a safe and supportive environment.
The session is expected to have a positive impact on the students by increasing awareness and reducing stigma around mental health issues. By learning to recognize early signs of emotional distress and understanding how to manage their feelings, students can develop healthier habits and stronger resilience. Additionally, the program emphasized the importance of communication, building supportive relationships, and accessing guidance from teachers, parents, or counselors when facing challenges. Overall, the initiative contributes to fostering a more informed, empathetic, and mentally healthy student community.
